Victoria Snow Camp

Victoria Snow Camp

Psalm 51:7 “Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”

From the 18th to the 21st of August, a group of brothers and sisters from Melbourne participated in one of the most awaited camps of the year: the snow camp. We went to Bright Town and spent a nice time in nature. On Friday afternoon, everybody arrived and settled, and then had worship together to open the Sabbath.

Sabbath morning was a nice time. We studied our Sabbath Bible Lesson and then had our planned group discussion on the topic “Whiter than Snow”. Everybody participated by giving their viewpoints on how we could become whiter than snow. It was a Christ-centred sharing of ideas and we could feel the presence of God among us. After that, we had our delicious fellowship lunch which gave us enough energy to do our missionary activity in the surroundings of the inn where we stayed. In pairs, trios and groups everybody went letterboxing spreading Bible Study request cards. When we finished letterboxing, we gathered together to have a walk amidst the beautiful riverside scenery. Sunset time had arrived. By quoting memory Bible verses, singing  and prayer we closed that unforgettable Sabbath day. Our social time in a friendly Christian environment was also heaps of fun.

Sunday was a beautiful sunny day. Everybody left early to enjoy the snow. Some went up to Mount Buffalo and other ones went up to Falls Creek Mountain. It was a day of lots of fun when everyone had the opportunity to either go skiing or snowboarding. We have no other words than, “Thank you Lord for the opportunity to see and enjoy recreation together in a beautiful part of your creation!”

Monday and the time to clean and pack up soon came. We look forward to participating in the next snow camp, God willing.
