Baptisms in Victoria
Greetings from all the Brethren in the Victorian Field with Galatians
2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live: yet not
I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself
for me.”
We were all richly blessed to witness the covenant of 4 souls on two different
occasions in the Victorian Field. The first two souls, Br Wayne and Sis
Joanne Blucher, were baptized on Sunday 31 October 2004 in the Beechworth
Reservoir. Beechworth is a small town situated about a 3 hour drive north-east
of Melbourne. The baptism was performed on a beautiful sunny day where
a few witnesses were gathered to support these souls in their covenant
with God. The profession of Faith and fellow-shipment were also conducted
at the water’s edge. May the Lord continue to richly bless these
two souls and may they be found at last in the Kingdom of our God when
He will soon return to take His children home.
The second baptism took place on Sunday 30 January 2005 where Br Robert
Nehvatal and Sis Alina Vancea were baptized in the Maribyrnong River,
a few minutes from the Keilor church. Again the Lord blessed us with a
beautiful day of warm sunshine as we all witnessed these two young people
take their stand on the Lord’s side. Many visitors turned up to
encourage the decision of these two souls and all were blessed for their
efforts. The profession of faith was conducted in the Keilor church where
various testimonies were given on how the Lord has led and renewed the
lives of these young people. The candidates also shared touching testimonies
on how God had proved Himself faithful to them through their lives. After
the baptism we all returned to the church for the fellowshipment service
and the day was completed with a combined lunch in the afternoon. It is
our prayer that these two young Christian soldiers shall go on from strength
to strength in their experience with the Lord, and that they will be found
among the faithful at His second coming.
