Vic/Tas Field Spiritual Conference
From Psalm 133:1, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for
brethren to dwell together in unity!”
On Friday 25th March 2005 we turned off Myers Creek road and slowly drove
into “Ferngully Lodge”, a retreat camp on a little property
set amidst the quiet, scenic hills of Healesville. It was the second year
running that we had visited Ferngully Lodge for our Australian Southern
Field annual Spiritual Conference and Victorian/Tas-manian Field Delegation
session.
Having settled in quietly to our accommodation and making the necessary
preparations for Sabbath, after the evening meal we met together in the
worship area as Br S Kiriakov opened the conference in conjunction with
the opening of the Sabbath and he spoke on the theme of our conference,
“Not I but Christ”.
On the Sabbath day many brethren were present and the worship area was
filled to capacity, ready for the Divine Service, which was taken by Br
J Ciric, who spoke on the “Love of Christ”. Morning worship
included prayer bands, and our Young People’s Meeting was blessed
by many special items with special thanks to all, particularly the young
people of the singing group Focus, who came all the way from Sydney.
That afternoon Br Matt Evan was baptised in a creek not too far away from
the lodge.
After the closing of the Sabbath we had a season of lively praise and
fellowship.
Sunday saw us through study presentations in the morning, after morning
worship and breakfast. Following lunch we enjoyed an afternoon of activities,
while the Vic/Tas Field members also held their annual delegation session
later in the day.
Sadly, our camp concluded on Monday 28 March 2005. Following the morning
worship and prayer bands, breakfast was served and then the necessary
preparations to clean up and depart were under-taken.
The catering and food preparations were greatly appreciated, enjoyed and
consumed by all as a result of the hard-working brethren and sisters who
made it possible and endeavoured to make our stay an enjoyable one. Many
thanks to all concerned, especially the sisters who sacrificed time and
effort from the spiritual meetings to present our meals on time.
Our main Speakers included Br N Tyler, Br S Kiriakov, Br J Ciric, Br G
Robles, Br J Parker, and Br D Cristea. We thank those brethren who laboured
as good soldiers in Christ Jesus to bring timely messages in due season.
May their labour on our behalf not be in vain as we partook of that Heavenly
manna for our spiritual nour-ishment.
It truly was an encouragement to have brethren visit from the differing
fields of NSW, SA and even as far as Queensland. It certainly was a most
spiritually uplifting time together in fellowship. The Lord’s mercy
endures forever in blessing us with His glorious presence. May we honour
Him in taking this most precious message of righteousness by faith to
a dying world and making the necessary preparations to meet Him in the
clouds of the sky. This is my prayer.
Your Brother in Christ,
