NSW Missionary Department contacted a group called “Jesus Cares” who provide food and a Christian message for the homeless in the city of Sydney. They were happy to have someone willing to help them with this work, so a day was organized for volunteers who felt they would like to help to come and cook lunch.
The morning of Sunday 22nd March 2009 was a very busy one for those who volunteered. We are very thankful for the many hands that helped with cooking pumpkin soup, pasta and sauce and prepared fresh salads. After finishing the cooking, some went into the city to help hand out the food.
The organizers of the “Jesus Cares” Mission were also very happy to have some help with their song service from Focus singing group and invited us to go back anytime we would like to, unfortunately we haven’t been able to do so as yet.
