On the 19 February 2002, five members left Auckland in a rented van enroute to Nelson in the South Island, to share in the baptism of three souls.  One candidate was picked-up from Tirau on the way south.  The following day, we travelled on the vehicular ferry across Cook Straight and through the picturesque Marlborough Sounds to Picton.  It was then just a short drive of 2 hours to Nelson.

Others were able to share the joy of seeing three dear souls follow the Lord through the baptismal waters, two sisters from Dunedin, and one sister from Brisbane, also travelled to Nelson for the happy occasion.

On the 21 February, under a warm and clear midday blue sky, with the verdant green of a native bush backdrop, and in crystal clear flowing waters, two sisters and one brother were baptised into God’s remnant church.  Praise God!  What sweet joy and blessings the eighteen or more, who had gathered to witness the baptism received.  Being in such an idyllic spot in nature, we were enthralled as they were fellowshipped into the church.

The following day our new members were able to share in their first service of humility, and the Lord’s Supper.  Two days later, after a lovely Sabbath and sweet fellowship, we said farewell to each other and headed back to Auckland.

Praise God for the workings of the Holy Spirit, as hearts are being touched by the truth of the message.  The fruit is real evidence that our heavenly Father is drawing His precious flock together. Amen.
