Gluten free Cooking Demonstration – Nundah, QLD

There are many today who are searching for alternative healthy foods due to the great amount of allergies around. Appreciating the fact that folks are searching for ways to cook healthy, and at the same time, tasty allergy free meals, Clayfield members and friends decided to hold a gluten free cooking demonstration in the Nundah area. The demonstration took place on Sunday 16th February 2014. While we had a few challenges trying to turn the building alarm off before the demonstrations started, despite this mishap, we were able to present a very tasty and informative program.

As twenty five visitors from the general public experienced first-hand, gluten-free cooking does not have to be tasteless; it can be very enjoyable and easy to make. Among the healthy dishes presented were gluten- free bread and pastry, cheesecake base, curry lentil pie filling, and baked cashew tofu cheesecake filling. Brother Paul Chapman gave a brief but informative presentation on the importance of keeping the eight laws of health.

We thank the Lord for the encouraging response to the demonstrations. From the surveys conducted at the end of the meeting, most plan on returning for our next demonstration. We pray that these programs will be a means of helping people in the community discover that there is a better healthier way of living ordained by our loving Creator.
