Wentworthville Depression Recovery Program
Sunday morning on July 13, the Wentworthville Church kitchen was a busy hive of activity as the sisters were preparing lunch for the graduates of the Dr Neil Nedley Depression Recovery Program. Although only six of the graduates (including church members) were present, we had a wonderful time together.
Before sitting down to the delicious meal, Br Domenic Polistina, Program Director, thanked all for coming and shared a few encouraging words. Before and after scores from the test results showed, on average, a marked improvement by the end of the program in attendees’ levels of anxiety, depression and emotional intelligence (EQ). It was an exciting and moving moment when the graduates were called forward to receive their certificates.
Lunch highlighted some of the top “brain foods” presented by Dr Nedley, with dishes that included tofu, walnuts, linseed, green soy beans and other healthy ingredients. The tasty food and pleasant company was greatly enjoyed by all.
God willing, we look forward to hosting the Depression Recovery Program again in the future, and in the meantime, we are planning a cooking demonstration in September that will also focus on brain food. Please pray that it goes well and that the Lord will bless the planning and running of these classes so that those attending receive a blessing.
