A Silent Witness

A Silent Witness

In Daniel 12:4, last part, we read: “… many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” As a young person, I wondered: how will it be possible for all the world to hear the good news of the Gospel? Today with technology advancing by the second, through the world-wide web and other media options, the message can be given to the whole world with a click of a button. We should take advantage of this and make the most of the options available. We will never know how far-reaching our work will be.

Tuesday, 18th April, we received a phone call at the church’s head office in Schofields from someone who was googling potential facilitators to take vegetarian cooking classes and a healthy diet workshop for a community eco-expo. This person came across our vegetarian cooking demonstrations on the web and was very impressed. He decided to contact and invite us to take part in the World Environment Day weekend program where they are running several educational activities, engaging the community in living well principles. Unfortunately, due to this event being held on a Saturday, we had to decline the invitation, but communicated that we would be very happy to help on any other day. While talking to this person, I found out that he was a vegetarian. So I used the opportunity to invite him to attend our Vegetarian Way Cooking Demonstrations this coming May.

But what was really amazing to me was that before I mentioned about the Sabbath, this person already knew who we were—that we are Sabbath keepers. When telling me the date for the event, he made sure that he said the word “Saturday” loud and clear, then followed with a question: “Would that be a problem to you, since it will be your day of worship?”

God has His ways and means to reach every single person with the message. When doing His bidding, we never know how far reaching our work may be. How important then it is that we are faithful in all that we do, for we never know who may be watching (or reading).

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Matthew 24:14.

May God help us to be consecrated instruments in His hands.
