Queensland Baptism
“Baptism is a most solemn renunciation of the world. Those who are baptized in the threefold name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit … declare publicly that they have forsaken the service of Satan and have become members of the royal family, children of the heavenly King.” Lift Him Up, p. 302.
On Sabbath 23rd of June 2018, a special afternoon service was held at Clayfield Church, where relatives, church members and many visitors came along to worship God and to witness Natali Fuenzalida commit her life to Jesus. Encouraging testimonies were shared in behalf of Natali during the profession of faith meeting. Following the meeting, we all gathered together by the shores of Clontarf Beach, Redcliffe, for her baptism. Though it was a cool winter’s afternoon, our hearts were warm with joy as another young person followed in the footsteps of Jesus. At one point, even the way the afternoon sun shone upon the scene reminded us of the time when the Holy Spirit lighted upon Jesus at His baptism. With the sun fast setting, we made our way back to church for the fellowshipment ceremony where we welcomed Natali officially as a member of God’s church. Soon after the fellowship service and close of Sabbath, we enjoyed some light refreshments and socialising together in the church house. What a beautiful way to close God’s holy day! Our prayers and support are with Natali as she endeavours to follow closely in the footsteps of Jesus.
