“And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:15-16.
Due to the large number of children attending the Guildford Church each week, it was decided that it would be very beneficial to hold a Children’s Sabbath every two months, when we can also invite other families who don’t regularly attend our church. These Sabbaths are especially designed for the children and all the meetings are geared to cater for these precious little ones.
On Sabbath 23rd October, we all gathered at Guildford Church for Sabbath School, where the children studied the lesson about Gideon. We also made some lamps which were used later during that day.
Following the lesson, we all made our way to a beautiful spot in nature, beside a creek, where the children enjoyed the feeling of what it would have been like to be part of Gideon’s 300 men. After making a joyful noise with their trumpets, we headed to another spot where we enjoyed our lunch beside a nice waterhole.
We thank God for the simplicity of the little ones, and for their eagerness to learn. May God help each one of them as they make their experiences with Him. Our prayer for our children is for each to grow to honour, love and serve Him.
