In Memory of Ilonka Janicek

6 October 1929 – 3 October 2022

Ilonka Janicek was the wife of the late Janos Janicek, who passed away in 2014.

Aunty Ilonka was known to many by her smile and kind words. She was often seen together with some of our other dear ones at Kings Langley retirement village, and our workers would visit with her and chat about life and spiritual things.

Once in recent times, when told by nursing staff that she could not leave the building to attend church, Aunty asked with a grin, “Excuse me, is this a prison?” The flustered staff didn’t know what to say, and Aunty went to church. She loved people, and she also believed in doing what is right.

Now Aunty Ilonka is resting and awaiting the resurrection. We wish to express our sincere condolences to Sisters Margaret Ciric and Ethel Stoyko and their families on their loss. May God give you comfort and strength as you farewell your loved one.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.
