On Sabbath, November 9, 2024, our church family witnessed a moment of spiritual joy and commitment as Lance and Marj Smith were baptised into our church. The special event took place on a Sabbath day, adding an extra layer of significance to this sacred occasion.
The day began with a heartfelt program at the church in the morning, setting the tone for the celebrations to come. The brethren shared hymns and prayers.
In the afternoon, the baptismal program was divided into three meaningful parts:
- Profession of Faith – Lance and Marj publicly declared their commitment to follow Christ and uphold the biblical principles of the SDA Reform Movement Church.
- Baptism by the River – The baptism took place in Warrandyte, Victoria, a picturesque location with serene scenery and a flowing river. The natural beauty of the surroundings enhanced the spiritual atmosphere as church members and friends gathered to witness this sacred moment.
- Fellowshipment of New Members – Following the baptism, Lance and Marj were officially welcomed as members of our church community. Words of encouragement and blessings were shared, underscoring the joy of gaining a new brother and sister in Christ.
A delightful lunch preceded the baptismal program, giving attendees an opportunity for fellowship and preparation. After the baptism, everyone came together once more for a special meal, rejoicing in the Smiths’ decision to dedicate their lives to God.
We pray for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon Lance and Marj as they begin this new chapter in their spiritual journey.
