WA Youth Dinner

Fondue, being a social event, and generally acceptable to the fancy of both the gentleman and ladies of WA, was chosen as our end of year event. The preparation for this event began a week before, with Jade Kneebone’s team running all over Perth looking for enough fondue sets for the thirty people expected at the dinner. The food preparation began a few hours before the dinner was supposed to start on Sunday. The first call of duty for the…

QLD Youth Campout

While others had come before and set up camp, the car I was in arrived to camp very late – at midnight in fact. Inskip Point is very sandy, and we got stuck in the sand on our way in, because of driving too slowly. Two helpful campers got us unstuck and gave us some good advice which we would all end up using over the weekend: “Drive it like you stole it!” The next day, Sabbath morning, dawned lovely…

Camponotus Kids Camp NSW

We asked the children to name one thing they were thankful for. It was a delight to hear “I’m thankful that we can have Camponotus.” Although there were hours of work, planning and organising that went into the program held on the 13-14 June, it was just as much anticipated and enjoyed by the organisers. It brings so much delight to our hearts to see the smiles, hear the laughter and share the challenges with the children. With the general…

Baptism and Wedding Vow Renewal

20th March, 2022 Tony and Irene Williams first came in contact with the Guildford Church a few years back when they attended a branch Sabbath School that was running every Sabbath morning in a neighbouring suburb. After attending church meetings for a while, they stopped coming until several months ago, when they decided to make Guildford Church their home church. We have enjoyed their fellowship very much and were delighted when they decided to be baptised. Although both had been…

Philippines Cyclone Appeal

In December 2021, Typhoon Rai, a powerful and catastrophic tropical cyclone, devastated communities in the Philippines, with a reported 1.5 million houses damaged or destroyed. Many church members’ homes were lost or severely damed in the destructive winds. Several church buildings were also damaged or lost, including houses of worship in Gabi-Ubay, Tayasan, Liburon and Mandatag. Funds are needed to assist in the rebuilding efforts. It is estimated the cost of rebuilding and repair to be about 2.4 million Philippine…

Musical Outreach

To those who may not be aware, a few families with a passion for music and sharing the good news of salvation have been providing online praise. For God’s honour and your enjoyment, these are available by clicking the different links below. Ah-Ching Family Sing-along For several Sabbath afternoons we were blessed to join ‘Live’ for a Sing-along session with the Ah-Ching family together with Br. Isaac Foaese. This has been a time of praise and thanksgiving. During the sing-alongs,…

In Loving Memory of Grace Barnett

14 June 1930 – 28 December 2021 Grace Jean Barnett passed away on 28 December, 2021, aged 91 years. She was the third daughter of Ted and Violet Burley, born on 14 June, 1930 at Miles, Qld. Grace’s young life was spent on properties in western Queensland. Living in the country, social and church life was limited, but thanks to one older sister, an interdenominational Bible study group was conducted but unfortunately later closed down by the Church of England…

In Loving Memory of Lydia Kraus

14 June 1935 – 25 December 2021 In the book of Colossians (3:12), the Bible tells us to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. For us, this is how we see Lydia Kraus touching the lives of all who knew her. Born on 14 June 1935 in Wilhelminenort, in a fertile agricultural region of east Germany, she came into the world as a blue baby, born in the hay, during the busy summer harvest. Mum was the…

In Loving Memory of Nikola Popovik

14.05.1956 – 05.11.2021 Adapted from the eulogy read at the funeral of Br. Nikola Popovik. We thank God for Nikola’s life and remember him for what he was—a truly lovely person: generous, righteous, positive, with a great sense of humor, caring and always putting others before himself. Nikola was born into a happy family. Both Nikola and his only sibling, his sister Olga who is six years younger, were born in Skopje, the capital of Republic of North Macedonia, at…

Literature Campaigns Continue

Last year the churches in New South Wales put together a new leaflet advertising the book The Great Controversy. Over half of the initial print run of 40,000 copies has been distributed, with over 20 copies of the book being requested. A new feature of this leaflet is the inclusion of a QR code that leads to an online form to request a copy of the book. This design is now in use in South Australia as well, with 20,000…

Schofields Children’s Sabbath School Renovations

“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.” Deuteronomy 6:6, 7. For some time, the children who are studying Children’s Treasures lessons at Schofields Church were having their classes in the dinning room of the AUC Office. A decision to divide the current Sabbath School room into two separate rooms by separating the current room through the middle was made. Work was immediately put into…
