QLD Field Camp 2005

Friday 2nd September dawned a sunny day. We arrived at the Kenilworth Homestead in time to set up our tents (or dormitories) for a weekend in nature for the annual camp. The title of the camp was ‘Your Date With Destiny’
The opening of Sabbath was entitled ‘A Knock at the Door’ taken by Br Keith Robertson. He talked about how Jesus is knocking and asking to come into our hearts. After opening of Sabbath we sat down to a tasty dinner. Following dinner was the opening of the conference entitled ‘The Future is Coming’ taken by Br Graham McMahon. He spoke about the king’s dream and how God revealed the future to Nebuchadnezzar, and that we are in the time when the great stone will come and break the feet to pieces. We then retired to our beds in order to be ready for the day ahead.
On Sabbath morning most people awoke to the sound of the bell (except me, I was ringing it!!). Worship was entitled ‘Time No Longer’ and it was taken by Br Calvin Barnett. He talked about how we are just about to witness Jesus’ 2nd Coming and there is no time to get saved and stop sinning “a little later”. Breakfast was served and eaten and we prepared for Sabbath School. The Children had their special program while the adults had their lesson. After Sabbath School was Divine Service entitled ‘Your Destiny, Sealed with a Mark’ taken by Br Paul Chapman. He talked about what we must be to receive God’s mark. We then ate lunch. Following lunch was the Young People’s Meeting entitled ‘Wearing a Beautiful Garment’. It was taken by the Young People’s Department and they related the story of the king and the man who came to the wedding feast without wearing a wedding garment. They related it to Christ’s 2nd Coming and how there will be those who profess to be Christians and yet they will be sent away because they are not worthy to enter the Kingdom of God. After the Young People’s Meeting a few people went for a walk to the river. We came back just in time for close of Sabbath entitled ‘When shall these things be?’ taken by Br David Allen who told us how these things are already happening, which means we are very close to Christ’s 2nd Coming.
After Sabbath we had dinner and then a Social Meeting which was very interesting and enjoyable. It was taken by Sr Irene Wiseman. We were divided into four groups and given a few items with which we had to find a Bible verse, song, or Ellen White quote which mentioned the item that we had. Then we were called up front to present our songs, Bible verses etc. After the meeting a lot of people stayed up talking, chatting, and socializing until bedtime.

On Sunday, I again awoke most people to the sound of the bell. Worship was entitled ‘The Last Message of Mercy’ taken by Br Anton Klemens. He talked about how we are in the time when we are receiving the last chance to repent and be converted and that if we do not heed this warning we will have no other chance to repent and be converted. Breakfast was eaten and the adults went into the studies while the children went into their special program. After the studies everybody came together to close the conference. The children presented the things they had done which included mosaic tiles, collage tiles and some other items which they had made, and the conference ended. We then ate our tasty lunch. After lunch was cleanup time. With so many people helping it did not take long to clean up the camp-grounds. It was then time to go home.
We went home with a lot of memories and some new friends as well. I think we all enjoyed the weekend at Kenilworth Homestead
