Sometime ago a plan was formulated to have a “fly-build” project to erect a chapel in Samoa.  The brethren there are very happy that this time has finally arrived!  Unfortunately Br John Lausevic, director of the Welfare Department, is not able to carry this out due to some health problems, so Br Luke Kneebone was entrusted to take on this project. Vanuatu Church Dedications & Pacific Leaders Forum

In November, Vanuatu Mission Field hosted the Pacific Leaders Forum, with representatives from PNG, Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, Australia, and of course Vanuatu, in attendance. The Pacific Regional Secretary, Br Rolly Dumaguit was also present for the meetings, which discussed the needs of the Pacific Mission Fields, including a proposal for the establishment of a Pacific Union. Welfare Department Work in Oceania

For the past two years several outreach seminars were planned by the Welfare Department to take place in the various islands of Oceania. Due to various funding issues and time constraints the department was unable to complete the scheduled events until just now. Vanuatu Mission News

On the 14th of September, Br Andrew Pakoasongi reported that the Vanuatu Mission Field had just completed a week of public meetings combined with a youth camp. The turnout to the meetings was very good, and six interested souls are now undergoing further Bible studies. Solomon Islands Mission Conference & Health Outreach

  Local tradition believes that the Solomon Islands are called by this name after King Solomon in the Bible. They say that he came there to gather some natural resources such as gold for the building of the temple. The Vanuatu Field conference was conducted during the month of May 2012. The conference was conducted in Port Vila at the local school grounds run by Br Clements. The conference was based upon “The Church Militant and The Church Triumphant”. Papua New Guinea School Project

New PNG Government legislation, which came into effect last month, requires compulsory schooling for all PNG children. To meet this requirement, we are pleased to report that our brethren in PNG have taken the first steps in implementing a Christian based education program. In October 2011, the AUC Education Department, in assisting with the coordination of program curricula, received over 300 names of potential students who wish to be be enrolled in the school program. Regional News – New Caledonia

In early April of this year, Br Brian Jaksic together with Br John Ciric made a visit to New Caledonia where they met with our church members on the island of Mare to assist in the reorganization of the work there.
