In Memory of Ilonka Janicek

6 October 1929 – 3 October 2022 Ilonka Janicek was the wife of the late Janos Janicek, who passed away in 2014. Aunty Ilonka was known to many by her smile and kind words. She was often seen together with some of our other dear ones at Kings Langley retirement village, and our workers would visit with her and chat about life and spiritual things. Once in recent times, when told by nursing staff that she could not leave the…

After a delay of several months, the project was…

Mums Remembered in Victoria

A special dinner was held in Victoria on the 8th of May to recognise the mothers among us. The dinner was prepared by their children. It was a great opportunity to also connect with families that we don’t usually see at church. The mums were all told they were not to help but some of them couldn’t resist getting in to lend a hand with the day, which just made it all more special. That’s what mums do, isn’t it?

90th Birthdays

John Kraus What a year was 1932. John Kraus was born on the 24th of May. This year was also one of the worst experienced years of the Great Depression that people lived through. Brother John’s favourite verse is Psalm 37:25, “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the…
