Queensland Field Spiritual Conference

"Reflecting Christ" was the theme for the Queensland Field Spiritual Conference. The venue was Kenilworth, which is approximately 2 hours North of Brisbane. Church members and visitors from New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland arrived at our camp location to sing, study, learn, pray and fellowship. The Lord blessed us with beautiful weather which I am sure we all appreciated. It was a joy to see so many young children at the camp and one of the Sisters commented…

PNG Mission Field Report

Hello brethren, sisters and young people. I thank the Father for His infinite mercy for giving us an opportunity to become His sons and daughters through Christ’s sacrifice and by accepting the robe of righteousness. We held our PNG Spiritual Conference and Delegation Session between, 10 – 16 September 2002. Attendees at the Spiritual Conference comprised not only SDA Reformers but visitors from various other religious bodies. The meetings were held at Suruganam in Bogia District, situated around 400…

New South Wales Field Conference

We rose early on Friday morning, July 7, 2002 and travelled by car towards Sydney, looking forward to a spiritually refreshing time together with more members of our church family. After arriving in the mid-afternoon at the Elim Heights Youth Camp, we found the camp nice and green. The results of the fire five months earlier could be seen in the blackened trees and cleared bush. We met many hard-working people who were preparing for the camp. We really…

New Zealand Field Conference News

Between the dates, May 31 and June 3, we held our Field Spiritual Convention and Field Delegation Session. The Conference Theme was "In the Spirit and Power". The venue was Camp Morley, set amongst farmland on the southern shores of the Manukau Harbour. It was very picturesque. The weather remained fine for most of the weekend with little rain. The middle of winter is never very warm, but our hearts were warmed as approximately 35 members and visitors gathered…

PNG Youth Convention

It was with a lot of apprehension mingled with a thrill of adventure that the little group of Australians left from Sydney on 24 June to embark on the most awesome two weeks that we had ever imagined. Well for me it was! After 3 tiring plane trips, we were very warmly welcomed by Br. Peter Dakire and family in Madang. Everything was so new for us that every aspect of the next couple of days, which involved sight…

Schofields Building Project Report – Aug 2002

Dear friends in Jesus, "Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" Psalms 107:31 Since our last update we have had more external building work done, like bricklaying and roof lining for the residence and awnings. Most of the work has been done on internal items. The next large item on our agenda is the driveway and car park, for which we have a number of prices…

Western Australia Missionary News

For some time it had been in my mind to visit those individuals who had ordered a copy of, “The Great Controversy” from the leaflets letterboxed.  Although I have no problem going on my own to do this, I do not think it is wise for a sister these days to do so, I shared my desire with Sr. Maureen Parkes and we decided on a day that would suit us both. Tuesday morning came, and after much prayer, we set…

Victorian/Tasmanian Field News

We would just like to praise the Lord for the time He has given us each one to work for Him. The last few months have been busy and rewarding in this corner of the vineyard. Both old and young among our members and friends from Keilor Park Church and Shepparton Group have been involved in the missionary work. We all realise the end is near and the message of Christ’s soon coming needs to go to the world.…

New Zealand Field News

On the 19 February 2002, five members left Auckland in a rented van enroute to Nelson in the South Island, to share in the baptism of three souls.  One candidate was picked-up from Tirau on the way south.  The following day, we travelled on the vehicular ferry across Cook Straight and through the picturesque Marlborough Sounds to Picton.  It was then just a short drive of 2 hours to Nelson. Others were able to share the joy of seeing three dear souls…

Schofields Building Project Report – Feb 2002

Dear Friends in Christ, Greetings with Psalm 147:1 "Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely." In our last update we mentioned that the next major item was organizing brickwork and we are happy to report that the bricklaying for the hall and the kitchen has been completed along with a number of other items: · Window and door frames for offices and the hall…

Trainee Bible Workers Seminar

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, Greetings from cloudy Melbourne with a verse of light, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee." Isaiah 60:1 I want to write about the time we spent in Sydney after the close of the Youth Convention. It was a time of fire, both literal and spiritual. Billows of smoke continually surrounded the Elim Heights Youth Camp where we were staying, and we…

Stratham Church Building Dedication

On Sunday, 2 December 2001, the Stratham Church was dedicated.  After much preparation, and many invitations, the little church was completely full as the congregation rose to sing Samuel Wesley’s great hymn, “The Church has One Foundation”. The Bible reading was taken from John 4:5-15, and Br. Southwell gave his address based on that incident in Jesus’ life where He met the woman at the well and discussed many great things with her. After being questioned on the best place to…
